Two riders, two wins, two MD state champs (Greenbrier MTB Challenge)!

4 05 2012

For 9 years running the Potomac Velo Club has brought us the Greenbrier Challenge (GBC) and they never disappoint when it comes to putting on this event. Once again this years event would serve as the Maryland State championship. The race was held at the Greenbrier State Park. The course was just under 6 miles with 700+ feet of climbing per lap. Heavily wooded trails included narrow single and double track with a start/finish nestled along the lake.

Both Todd Bickling and Evan Ellicott decided to make the journey and throw their hat into the Maryland MTB state championship ring. Both riders had minimal technical issues and great legs on the day and took the top spot in each of their respective classes!! Todd won the Cat 3 Male 30-39 class and Evan won the Single Speed. Great racing guys!

The guys would like to thank the team’s sponsors for their generous support, without whom they wouldn’t be able to promote and enjoy the sport that they love.
