Kind of disappointed in the mix ups in the juniors rankings. Mixing two different age groups apparently left several laps uncounted. Having to chase the officials between two locations after the race made it impossible to correct bad results. We did try.
Seeing your son dropped 8 spots because they didn’t see him in the crowd is pretty disappointing. For the kid especially.
For the record; the preliminary results for #817 Patrick Rice show him at 13th, we believe he was 5th (or so). But after intially raising our concerns we could not pursue further.
Great Race and nice work to the regi staff…i know it seamed hectic but thought they did a great job. great course and nice job to the presenters!

Field sizes should be limed to 50. The 80 bike 4/5 field was a bit much to be able to move through the field given the short race distance.

Sorry no juniors. We held junior events here for the past two years and the course was not a good fit for a junior. We had kids all over the place. There were many almost crashes and, while many had fun, many kids left feeling discouraged. As a promoter, I am hoping to find a better venue to hold more junior racing. So…before you go online and say Team Bike Doctor is ignoring the future, please get to know us a little more. We actually do the best we can to promote cycling to juniors and junior devo.
My son rode Black Hills with NCVC last year and loved it. He’s with HPC this year. He’s cat 4 at 13. Yet a third to a half of the races in the area don’t have juniors slots. Good or bad or justifications aside, the kids end up travelling all over the region to get a halfway decent season in.
One problem last year was mixing the young and old juniors in one race and then losing track of the fact that there were actually two races happening at the same time.
